TAKE CARE OF UR FEET

Monsoon-proof your feet

You might not realise it, but stepping into those muddy puddles and all the slush can cause even more damage to your feet than you can imagine. Here are some simple tips to keep infections at bay this monsoon:

* It might sound strange, but wear open-toed foot-wear this season. With boots and closed shoes, the water tends to collect and this causes the bacteria to create more damage.

* Clean your feet with warm water and a disinfectant every time you return home.

* Get a pedicure at least once a week if you are always on the move. Otherwise, once in two weeks should suffice.

* It is important to mositurise your feet, but don’t apply the lotion between your toes as this causes the dirt and bacteria to accumulate here.

* Trim your nails and keep them short. Use only alcohol-free products for your feet.

* At the end of a tiring day, soak your feet in warm water mixed with the juice of a lemon or even some vinegar. This helps to clean the feet.
