CHOOSE YOUR PARTNER

We’ve all heard of the “laws of attraction.” But what exactly entices you to choose a mate? We let readers in on six of the surprising truths that you probably never guessed govern attraction.

* Your nose is always a factor: Scents and smells enchant both men and women. Light some candles or find your perfect perfume or cologne before you head out on the town.

* Colour draws men in:
Men are reportedly influenced by cultural symbols (like Valentine’s Day) that associate the colour with romance. Wear red or yellow and you will be certain to draw a man’s attention.

* Cocktail goggles are for real: It is true — we all look more attractive to one another when we have had a couple drinks. Keep this in mind when you’re out at night.

* Stress may act as a magnet: Adrenaline risk heightens attraction. If you are in a high-anxiety or stressful situation, you are more likely to take a chance on someone.

* Men really are “mommy’s boys”:
Guys are more inclined to approach a woman whose bone structure is similar to their mother’s. It’s called “sexual imprinting,” which implies that faces we find attractive as adults are determined when we are little.

* The 5/15 rule:
If a man touches you five times in 15 minutes, he is definitely into you. He can read your body language this way and can tell if you are interested as well, based on whether you tighten up or back off.
