Hisar (Haryana), July 13: Battling complications of age, a 66-year-old woman has become the oldest known mother of triplets after she gave birth to two boys and a girl here, doctors said. The triplets were born to Bhateri Devi 44 years after her marriage to Deva Singh(64). "Bhateri Devi of Satrod Village in Hisar district conceived with Invitro Fertilisation technique at National Fertility Centre here," Dr Anurag Bishnoi, who was the treating IVF specialist told mediapersons here today. He said Bhateri conceived only in third attempt and became a mother for the first time. "For the first two attempts, only two embryos were transferred in each cycle. But in third attempt three embryos were transferred in her uterus, resulting in the birth of three children by Cesarean section," Bishnoi said. Bhateri was born on May 21, 1944 in Madina village of Rohtak and her birth record is confirmed by the birth certificate issued by district hospital Rohtak, he said. "As the proof of her age is well documented, she becomes the most aged female of the world to give birth to triplets," he claimed. Meanwhile, her husband Deva Singh said he had married twice after marrying Bhateri as she was unable to produce children but he had no children from these two wives as well.
